Tutor and mentor (Imperial College, MIT, ETH Z)

Hi! My name is Spyros Poullados, I am originially from Cyprus and I am currently pursuing an MSc degree at ETH Zurich in Robotics.

The study techniques I have developed over my studies, in addition to my passion for learning have led to me having a impressive academic background. I have attained 9 A*s at IGCSEs level, 4 A*s at A-levels, graduated in the Top 10% of my class at Imperial College London while studying Mechanical Engineering, and earned a 5.0/5.0 whilst on an exchange year at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Over the last 6 years, I have 1-on-1 tutored several students from the age of 8, all the way to 18. I have helped them raise their grades by allowing them to appreciate concepts in Mathematics and Science in a more tangible and intuitive manner, and have taught them study methods that have allowed me to excel academically over the years. I have also taught a 9 year old the fundamental concepts in computer aided design, 3-D printing and programming whilst building a little robot together, and have organized, developed the curriculum for and delivered a robotics workshop for 50 children in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

As an experienced tutor, I hope to firstly help students understand concepts that they find challenging within the school Mathematics and Science curriculum at all ages. Futhermore, I look to transmit to them my passion for learning, and provide them with tools to help them with independent study in the future. Given my experience, I am also open to mentoring students, guide them through university applications, and collaborate with them on practical projects that will enrich their applications - especially for Engineering degrees at US and UK universities.
